Raja Palaniappan

Originally from San Francisco, Raja spent the first 7 years of his career as a corporate bond and derivatives trader in London, working on the trading floors of Lehman Brothers, Nomura, and most recently at Credit Suisse. The idea for Origin was conceived after observing the frustrations of clients during the corporate bond new issuance process and being inspired by other successful examples of the transformative power of technology in financial services.

Raja holds electrical engineering and biology degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Robert Taylor

Robert has a dual computer science and business background, he started his career trading credit derivatives at Nomura. Most recently a Portfolio Manager at Swiss fintech investment firm Centralway, where he led the sourcing, due diligence and valuation processes. Robert has also worked as a mentor with a number of startups and accelerators.

Robert holds an BEng (hons) from Imperial College and an MSc in Management from HEC Paris.

Geoffrey Carbonel
Business Development

During his career, Geoffrey has experienced both primary and secondary fixed income markets. Starting in Paris, Geoffrey covered French corporates on BNP Paribas’ DCM desk, before moving to London where he spent 3 years on the syndicate desk at Morgan Stanley covering IG corporates and EM issuers. In 2012, he moved to the IG Credit Trading desk to cover low beta corporates. He joined the Origin team in September 2015 to lead the business development effort with Dealers.

Geoff holds an MSc in Finance from EM Lyon and attended the MBA programme at Texas A&M.

Franklin Gilot
Business Development

Franklin's career spans 6 years in Fixed Income and Capital Markets. Following a first experience in Proprietary Trading, he joined the Capital Markets unit of BNP Paribas as an EMTN Analyst. He then moved on to develop the Commerzbank Private Placement franchise - achieving a top 10 League Table position. Most recently, Franklin worked for Credit Suisse where he focused on FIG Issuers.

Franklin holds a Master's degree from EDHEC Business School (France).

Leo Chan
VP Engineering

Leo has a deep experience in financial technology. Starting his career at IBM then Morningstar, over the years Leo has honed his craft architecting software that is highly scalable, maintainable and testable. Leo specializes in full stack web development with Python/Django and Javascript.

Leo is a graduate of the University of Illinois.

Alexis Durand
Senior Software Engineer

Alexis is a french software Engineer. Starting his career at Amadeus then iwoca, Alexis is devoted to building scalable, available and performant software through heavy testing and databases optimisations. Alexis specializes in full stack web development with Python/Django and Javascript.

Alexis is a graduate of the ENSEEIHT (Top Ranked French Computer-Science Engineer School).

Resley Rodrigues
Software Engineer

Originally from India, Resley is a web developer specializing in Python/Django and Javascript. Resley is devoted to building scalable, maintainable and highly tested software.

Resley received a Bachelor of Engineering from Goa University, majoring in Computer Science.

Danielle Russell

Danielle has an 8 year dual market research and business development background. Starting her career with GlaxoSmithKline and most recently as an NGO development director, Danielle specializes in building lucrative partnerships and pioneering change.

Danielle holds a MBA in Finance from Avila University.

Søren Elbech

Søren has 20+ years of experience in international capital markets, notably as Treasurer for Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC, as Treasurer for Eksportfinans in Oslo, as Head of Funding (ad interim) for Nordic Investment Bank in Helsinki, as funding officer for Danske Kredit as well as risk manager for GiroBank/BG Bank in Copenhagen. Among Søren's relevant achievements are the vision, design, development, and implementation of eFunding, an online trading platform for structured MTNs launched in 2006.

Søren holds an Executive MBA with Honors in Strategic Management from The Norwegian School of Management, Oslo, an Executive MBA in Strategic Management from the ESCP-EAP, Paris, and a Graduate Diploma in Finance from Copenhagen Business School.

Michael John Lytle

Michael John (‘MJ’) has 25 years of experience in the financial markets. He spent 18 years at Morgan Stanley before co-founding Source, a US$20 billion asset manager focused on ETFs. At Source, MJ was specifically focused on marketing, product management and research.

Prior to joining Source, MJ had responsibility for a variety of investment banking roles at Morgan Stanley stretching across Corporate Finance, Capital Markets Origination, Trading, Sales, Equity, Fixed Income, Private Wealth, Structured Products and Technology Strategy.

MJ has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government from Dartmouth College and the London School of Economics.

Benedict Nielsen

Benedict has 20+ years of capital market experience having worked for Kidder Peabody, UBS and Nomura. Although he started in DCM, the majority of his time has been spent on the trading side and in particular creating new client facing and risk taking businesses. At UBS, Ben co-ran European Credit Sales and Trading and was later asked to run their Bad Bank.

Most recently at Nomura he created their debt primary business in London, being responsible for DCM, Syndicate and MTNs in Europe and Asia ex-Japan.

Ben is an active angel investor in Tech startups and sits on the board of Launchpad Recruits. He has a degree in Politics from Exeter University.

Kathleen Yoh

Kathleen J. Yoh (“Kitty”) retired from GE Capital Corporation (GE Capital) at the end of 2015, having spent 25 years as the Deputy Treasurer for Funding. In that capacity, Kitty managed the global debt funding programs and issuances of capital securities for GE Capital.

Kitty has spent her entire career in various capital markets functions. Prior to GE Capital, she worked in the Treasury group of Exxon Corporation before joining the derivatives and capital markets desks of Lehman Brothers and Citibank.

Kitty served on the Board of ICMA and is currently on the Board of the New York Theatre Workshop. Kitty holds a BA in Economics from Barnard College and an MBA in Finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

John Younger

John Younger has over 20 years of capital markets experience in fixed income, corporate finance and regulatory functions. Most recently, he worked on the Fair and Effective Markets Review at the Bank of England. Prior to that assignment, he worked on the management team of small cap oil and gas company as interim CEO and President.

John’s fixed income experience spans 17 years at RBC Capital Markets, most recently in New York as head of US Debt Capital Markets.

John studied at McGill University and London School of Economics and holds the CFA designation.
